Stainless steel brake pistons offer a superior alternative to the factory aluminum pistons found in the Brembo 6-piston calipers on the BMW 135i. While aluminum pistons, like those in competitor kits, have a thermal conductivity of approximately 237 W/m·K, stainless steel has a significantly lower thermal conductivity of 16 W/m·K. This means our stainless steel pistons drastically reduce heat transfer from the brake pads to the brake fluid, helping to prevent fluid boiling and fade during intense track use.
Unlike the original design, which incorporates a ceramic buffer that can deteriorate under extreme heat, our stainless steel pistons eliminate this weak point while providing exceptional durability and resistance to thermal stress.
