Another Tech-53 innovation! Rear disc conversion for Mk1-2-3 VW, with new electric parking brake technology.

This brake kit has been developed for the MK1-MK2-MK3 226mm rear disc setup and can also be used to upgrade rear drums (details below). The kit was engineered for a well-balanced brake bias. With weight transfer during braking, oversized rear caliper pistons can cause the rear to lock up before the front—undesirable and unsafe. The piston size in this kit matches the Scirocco 16V rear calipers and is smaller than Mk4 alloy calipers, which create excessive rear clamping force for earlier W/C models.

Kit includes:

• 2x red or black powder-coated (special/custom) 2-piston calipers

• 2x red or black electric parking brake calipers, dash button, and complete wiring assembly

• Laser-cut pad spacers for a perfect fit on 10mm wide rear discs

• Pads for all 4 calipers

• 2x stainless braided lines with 90° JIC/proper fittings (thread into fitting upstream of axle beam, bypassing hard line on axle beam)

• 2x 6061-T6 aircraft-grade powder-coated mounting brackets

• All necessary hardware, shims, and washers

What you need before installing:

• Disc stub axles

• OEM 226mm discs (P/N 6N0 615 601)

Converting from drums?
Select the upgrade kit option, which includes left and right stub axles, 2 complete bearing kits with seals, and all necessary hardware. We strongly recommend upgrading to adjustable Wilwood proportioning valves when converting from drums.

• Clears 13-inch wheels

• Rear splash guard must be omitted (bracket replaces it)

• Corrado G60 compatible (not VR/SLC)
